Shipham Valves Supplies Multi-Million £'s Sea Water Systems Valve Contract to the South Pars Development Project
   
   
 
Shipham Valves, a member of the British based Flow Group Limited, has successfully supplied swing check and gate valves in nickel aluminium bronze materials for the sea water fire fighting ring main on the on-shore phases 6, 7 & 8 of the giant South Pars gas field development in Iran.  The underground gate valves, in sizes up to 32" and ANSI # 300 ratings, are supplied complete with large extensions and pedestals to allow uniform operation above ground.
 
South Pars gas field is situated on the Iran - Qatar median line in the Persian Gulf.  It is one of the largest gas fields in the world.  The field lies in waters covering 3,700 square kilometers with gas in place (GIP) reserves estimated at 464 Tcf which equates to 8 percent of total world reserves.
 
The processing plant is designed to produce 2,800 MSCFD of dry sour gas, 3,7 million tpd of LPG and 122,000 bpd of condensate.  The gas will be transported by the IGAT-5 pipeline to the Agharaji oilfield for re-injection. The contract was awarded by the joint-venture TIJD main contractor.  The TIJD consortium consists of; Toyo Engineering Corp (TEC) and JGC Corp of Japan, Industrial Development and Renovation Organisation (IDRO) of Iran and Daelim Industrial Corp (DIC) of Korea.
